My research generally addresses the 19th c. illustrated press as a discursive and ideological construct.
Current projects include essays on the early Victorian trade press and the representation of reform agitation in the Tomahawk (1867-70).
I am also interested in the Punch archive at the British Library, and in particular the Bradbury & Evans financial papers (ledgers and manuscripts).
