Research interests:
I am Research Associate in Victorian Cultural and Material History at Lancaster University, where I work on the Victorian Hand: Emotions, Embodiment and Identity.
I undertake interdisciplinary research in the literary and visual arts, with an emphasis on practice and research in archives and museum collections. I previously worked as Archives and Collections Assistant for The Glasgow School of Art.
My Doctoral thesis, 'Artists at Home: Self-Representation and Celebrity, 1860-1914' discussed how Victorian artists used photography as a tool for self-performance and celebrification.
Within Victorian cultural studies, I write on Celebrity, Pre-Raphaelitism, Neo-Victorianism and photographic history. My theoretical interests include Photo-Theory, Thing Theory and Hauntology.
