My particular interest lies in the way professional infrastructure influences repertoire in mainstream theatre, with a particular focus on London's West End. I have published on subjects including the emergence and influence of formal training for actors, and the altering professional status of the actress in the early twentieth century. Current work includes a critical biography of actor-manager George Alexander.
