Research interests:
My research examines the intersection of class, body, and labour in Victorian, Edwardian, and inter-war fiction, particularly within the realms of social problem novels, proletarian fiction, and working-class writing.
I investigate the depiction of embodied labour, industrial fatigue, and mental exhaustion in these texts, emphasizing how they engage with the physiological and psychological toll of industrial work.
Additionally, through a combination of literary analysis and cultural studies, I investigate the ways in which these texts engage with cultural, scientific, and medical discourses of the period, highlighting critiques of the socio-political structures.
