I am a PhD student and active lecturer in the department of English and American Studies at Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf.
My PhD project entitled The Art of Suggestion in Henry James’ Ghost Stories, investigates James’s politics of self-experience and authorial autonomy through the lens of 19th century practices of hypnotic suggestion, spiritualism, and occultism. The current research project looks into James’s narrative poetics of suggestion with the requirements of the 19th century literary marketplace. My other research interests include Victorian Spiritualism, Romanticism and writerly practices of the long nineteenth century.
