Research interests:
Tabitha Sparks specializes in the Victorian novel: its development, cultural influence and generic complexity. She also works on feminist narratology and medicine in Victorian culture (and literature more broadly). She is a member of Centre for Nineteenth-Century Studies International (Durham), NAVSA, and was a visiting scholar at Pembroke College, Cambridge (2017-2018). At McGill, she currently works as Associate Dean of Arts, Research and Graduate Studies and is a member of the Department of English and an Associate Member of the Social Studies of Medicine program.

Tabitha's publications include a forthcoming monograph, Victorian Metafictions (University of Virginia Press), The Doctor in the Victorian Novel (2009), Victorian Medicine and Popular Culture (co-edited with Louise Penner, 2015), the Broadview edition of Margaret Harkness's A City Girl (2018), as well as numerous articles and book chapters. She welcomes queries from prospective graduate students and collaborators in general.
