Research interests:
My research interests are in children's literature, young adult fiction, crime fiction and popular culture from the nineteenth century to the present day. I am particularly interested in crime and detective fiction for young readers and have produced research on 'penny dreadfuls' and story papers from the nineteenth century. I am also interested in true crime and, in particular, Jack the Ripper.
