I am interested in gender performativity in the nineteenth century, specifically engaging with female to male gender passing individuals. I enjoy investigating how none heteronormative identities were performed in a seemingly rigid public sphere. I am largely interested in how gender can be performed through outward persona and how gender and biology were different during this period.
