BAVS 2026 PGR Pre-Conference Online Workshop

BAVS 2026 PGR Pre-Conference Online Workshop

Monday 13 July, 10am-4.30pm (drop-ins welcome!)

Online via Microsoft Teams

This pre-conference workshop is designed for postgraduate researchers attending the BAVS 2026 Conference in Liverpool (27–29 July), offering a supportive space to connect and prepare for the event. PGRs not attending BAVS 2026 and early career researchers who feel they would benefit from the opportunity to (net)work ahead of the conference are also very welcome to attend.

Whether you are presenting for the first time and looking to build confidence, want to learn about other PGRs’ research, or simply need dedicated time to work on your paper, this day is designed to help you develop your ideas, refine how you communicate your research, and connect with fellow researchers.

Through a mix of co-working, short research pitches, and small-group networking, you will have the opportunity to share your work in a low-pressure environment and meet peers with similar interests. The workshop also includes a session on delivering an effective conference paper, led by the BAVS ECR representatives, Dr Lauren Cullen and Dr Emily Vincent, as well as informal discussion time and a Q&A to reflect on conference experiences, presentation nerves, and making the most of academic events.

The full schedule for the day is outlined below. Please feel free to sign up and drop in to whichever parts resonate with you.
